I'm curious what you guys think about Bodkin broadheads? I do sell several of these broadheads in the store, but which is better -- screw in or glue on? Why?
Most guys seem to buy the broadheads without the screw-on adaptor. I can see this is as very straight-forward and practical approach, but what about reusing the broadhead if you make a kill? Or say the arrow starts to fly less desirable and you want to change shafts? I suppose you could just heat the broadhead up (and glue) and it would fall right off the arrow. Could also make the steel more brittle and break the next time you hit a deer?
On the other hand, you can probably tune the shaft a bit better with a glue on broadhead? Also, the complete arrow with a fixed broadhead could possibly be stronger. Does anyone have a good opinion on this?
Had a customer as the weight of Bodkin broadheads the other day if anyone is interested. Bodkin's with insert are about 160-172gr and without the insert 140-160gr.
